Candide the Crab-by Dog

 Candide is appearing in a production of Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare this summer. It is being produced by Judith Shakespeare Company with a cross-gendered cast, so I get to be his clown owner, the existential simpleton Lance. So far we're having a great time. Everyone enjoys watching his deadpan reactions, and Candide is digging the attention and extra treats that come with it. He had a long day last Sunday, though, and was more interested in sleeping by the end of rehearsal than participating in the scene. Fortunately he now gets to recline throughout his last big scene.
